GigJam is a set of apps for PCs, tablets, and phones that is developed to reinvent productivity. It will let you access business information using a built-in version of Microsoft's Cortana voice assistant from your emails to figures from a corporate database.

The business information would be presented into a card by the apps. Users can circle items to share and make information confidential by crossing it. The card can be routed to other colleagues with read-only or editable mode, the annotation with audio comments and on-screen notes would also be possible.

As stated in a blog post by Vijay Mital, Microsoft's general manager of ambient computing and robotics:
“What’s truly needed is a way for people to spontaneously divvy up the information and actions needed to get work done, to keep track of each part, and bring it all to closure with others.”
“GigJam is designed for the emerging workforce that is more connected, more available and more social than ever before. With GigJam, a business can expect a dramatic transformation of every process where humans have the potential to exercise discretion and work with others, colleagues as well as customers.”
He also said that it is a breakthrough way for people to involve others in their business tasks. Web standards such as REST, OAuth and HTML5 are used to build this. Microsoft has preferred to be silent on its official release and cost, but it is expected soon.
