Microsoft announced the preview availability of a new version of its Remote Desktop app for Mac, which gives people the ability to access applications and data on other computers.

The app is a revamp of the Remote Desktop app currently available in the Mac App Store. The new one is available through HockeyApp.
New features include centralized management of user accounts that can each be used across multiple desktops, as well as the ability to copy, cut, and paste data in remote desktop sessions, as Ayesha Mascarenhas of Microsoft’s Remote Desktop team wrote in a blog post on the news today.
Microsoft Remote Desktop for Windows Phone came out of preview in April. The app is still in preview for Windows 10. Microsoft also has remote desktop applications for Windows 8.1, iOS, and Android.
Microsoft intends to keep improving its new Remote Desktop app for Mac.
“Keep an eye out for future updates where we will add additional features and experiences including support for Multiple monitors, Clipboard redirection, Remote Desktop Gateway, Remote Resources (RemoteApp and Desktop Connections), and Azure RemoteApp preview,” Mascarenhas wrote.
