If you want to know the device on which the app was purchased then you have to consult your original emailed receipt. The receipt shows the name of iOS devices but says “Mac” for OS X hardware.
If you want to edit your list of purchases then you have to follow these steps for iTunes of OS X:
  • In the upper bar on the right, click your name and select purchased.
  • Enter your account password if asked.
  • Click apps on the upper right and then in the middle, click all.
  • Drift over any app you want to remove; an X will appear in the upper left corner.
  • Click on the X and you will be prompted to hide the purchase.
Now you can hide as many apps you want to hide. If the “X” is not appearing, but the cursor is changing when you hover over the upper left corner. Click to hide the app.
The purchase will no longer appear in the purchased list but are still connected to your account and you can return to iTunes in OS X to the Account Information section by store > view account and then under iTunes in the iCloud click manage to the right of hidden purchases.
